Indonesian Myth : Sitting On A Pillow Can Cause Boils

Most Indonesians, especially Javanese, have many taboos or pamali . One of them is sitting on a pillow that can make buttocks become boils. Sitting on a pillow is considered a bad thing. So far no research has been found to support this assumption. But the Javanese said "The pillow is for the head, not for the buttocks". However, medically, boils from sitting on a pillow can happen. One of them is because of the cleanliness of the pillow used to sit. A health expert says that a home is the most ideal place for the development of germs, bacteria and other impurities. The pillow we usually use can be a nest of oil, dead skin, sweat and much more. Therefore, the surface of the pillow can be a very dirty place, even if it is not visible. Pillows that are rarely cleaned and replaced will become dirty and can cause pimples or boils. What's more, many people don't pay attention to the cleanliness of the pillows used.
